The Yale School of Architecture (YSoA) and the Yale School of the Environment (YSE) admits students in accordance with each School’s criteria. Prospective students must apply to the joint degree program prior to matriculation by submitting a separate application to each school during a single admissions cycle. There are three cycles in which a prospective student may apply:
How to Apply
1. Currently matriculated at YSoA
MArch I students currently matriculated at YSoA may apply to YSE in the fall of their first or second year.
MArch II students currently matriculated at YSoA must apply to YSE in the fall of their first year.

Deadline to apply is typically around December 6th of each year.
2. Currently matriculated at YSE
MEM, MFS, MF, or MESc students currently matriculated at YSE must apply to YSoA (MArch I or II) in the fall of their first year.

Deadline to apply is typically around January 1st of each year.
3. Prospective students
Prospective students may apply to both YSE and YSoA degree programs in a single admissions cycle. If accepted into both degree programs, the student may decide whether to begin their Joint Degree studies at YSE or YSoA.
